Police are renewing their request for public information in the hopes of finding a missing 16-year-old Kailua-Kona girl.

Police are renewing their request for public information in the hopes of finding a missing 16-year-old Kailua-Kona girl.

Kuuipo Taketa has been missing from her Kona home since Jan. 19. Police said Monday she last seen in Hilo on July 1.

Taketa is described as Japanese/Filipina, 5-foot-2, 103 pounds with black hair, brown eyes, fair complexion and slim build. She has scars on her left forearms and both thighs.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police non-emergency line at 935-3311. Those who prefer anonymity may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
